AQUAFEEDS: Fit for Future 2.0

August 19-20, 2026 • The Westin Resort Nusa Dua • Bali • Indonesia

TARS 2026, Aquafeeds: Fit for Future 2.0 represents a strategic shift in aquafeed development to address current and future aquaculture needs – for today’s production systems and for the future aquaculture landscape. It is the next stage of innovation where nutrition, technology, industry and the environment converge. TARS 2026 builds on TARS 2019, Aquafeeds: Fit for Future, as the ecosystem continues to change.

Shrimp aquaculture has evolved and yet bespoke feeds tailored to lifecycle, farming intensity, and models are lacking. Costs of freshwater fish feeds are limited by fish market prices. Can we think outside the box to improve on this? It is still “one size fits all” for marine fish feeds. Small demand discourages companies from developing custom formulations. Which comes first, feed supply or demand? The future needs matching nutrition to new genetics, particularly for shrimp and tilapia.

TARS 2025 successfully brought together stakeholders from across Asia’s shrimp aquaculture industry.

Pillars for Strategic Change

Future-Proof Nutrition

Precise formulas that balance nutrients, digestibility, ingredient price volatility, and supply risks. Alternative ingredients should match performance and cost.

Bespoke Feeds

Bespoke feeds tailored to lifecycle, farming intensity and models.

Functional Feeds

Managing risks with functional feeds that enhance immunity, gut health, stress & disease tolerance.

Feed Sustainability

The go-to concept for future feeds with reduced carbon footprint across the feed lifecycle. Certification-ready formulations aligned with market demands.

Smart Feeding Systems

Feed efficacy and efficiency involve optimising feed with AI-driven monitoring and real-time biomass data to enable precise nutrient delivery tailored to species, life stage, and environment, reducing waste and improving FCR.
